Take the Waste - Value Challenge

 


Identifying the Value and the Waste in your daily work (and life) is one of the best ways to identify issues, problems, and improvement opportunities.

 


VALUE:
1. Your customer recognizes an activity as value and is willing to pay for AND

2. The activity changes the product or information AND

3. the activity is done right the first time.

 

WASTE:
Anything that consumes time and resources without adding value.

 

 

YOUR CHALLENGE:

  • For the next 5 days – identify and record the value and waste you observe – How many wastes are consuming your time without adding value?   Warning:  Once you begin seeing waste around you, it is difficult to stop and difficult to accept.
  • Share with us the value in your work, what wastes you identified, and how you will increase the value / eliminate the waste?
